For Behind-the-Wheel Instruction

THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED FOR THE BEHIND THE WHEEL INSTRUCTION:

Any student not following the precautions outlined will not be permitted to drive.

• Students should REMAIN in your personal vehicle when arriving for your drive. Please remain in your vehicle until an Instructor motions for you to come over and enter the drivers ed car.

• Before getting in the car for the behind-the-wheel instruction, students will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.

1. We will take your temperature with a no-touch infrared thermometer.

2. We will ask if you have any symptoms such as fever, sneezing or coughing.

• Before/after every drive, the Instructor will use disinfectant wipes on:
     All door handles
     All driver and dashboard controls (e.g., switches, dials, buttons)
     Keys
     Steering wheel – rim and adjustment levers
     Gear shift lever
     Parking brake lever/button
     Front and rear safety belts, including latching mechanisms
     Center console
     Seats and seat controls
     Head restraints
     Mirror controls
     Any other surfaces likely to be touched by instructors or students

• Please use hand sanitizer (provided for you) on your hands before each session begins, and after each session ends.

• Please bring a face mask that covers your nose and mouth and wear it at all times.

• If it makes you more comfortable to wear gloves, please bring those with you, they will not be provided.

For Classroom Instruction

• Students will be spaced 6 feet apart and maintain social distancing from other students and Instructor.

• Students will wear a mask (provided by students) that covers nose and mouth at all times in the classroom.

• Students will use hand sanitizer (furnished by Jeffers) when entering and leaving the classroom.

• Before classroom instruction begins, Instructors and students will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.

All door handles
All desks and tables
All light switches
Computer keyboard and mouse
Any other surfaces likely to be touched by Instructors or students

• To maintain social distancing:
Please do not arrive early before classroom sessions begin.

Have parents pick you up on time at the completion of classroom sessions.

• Classroom size will be limited to accommodate social distancing.

COVID-19 PLAN

We at Jeffers Driving Academy, LLC, take the threat of COVID-19 very seriously. We have taken the following precautions to assure our students and staff are safe from infection.

1. We are instructing our Instructors and Office Staff to not come to work if;

They have a new cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or fever within the past 21 days.
They have traveled outside the country in the past 21 days.
They have had close contact with a person known or suspected to have COVID-19.

2. We are asking students and parents to please call and reschedule their drive times if;

They have a new cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or fever within the past 21 days.
They have traveled outside the country in the past 21 days.
They have had close contact with a person known or suspected to have COVID-19.

3. We are using Disinfectants in our offices and classroom daily to help eliminate the spread of any germs.

4. We will monitor the Delaware County and Indiana Health Departments recommendations on public gatherings closer to the time of our next In-Person Class start date and make the decision at that time on whether or not the class will meet as planned. If the risk is high, we will postpone the class to a date that the Health Department gives an all clear to resume.
