Mission and Vision

Jeffers Driving Academy uses years of experience and innovation to educate students and families in order to save lives and reduce injuries through organized curriculum, family involvement, and professional instruction. Our mission is to provide each student with the necessary information and techniques to be a SAFE RESPONSIBLE DRIVER. To provide a learning friendly environment that meets the needs of each student’s learning style. To recognize and understand each student’s strengths and weaknesses. To provide each student with the proper training so they can obtain an Indiana driver’s license. To provide the motoring public with SAFE RESPONSIBLE DRIVERS.

Instructors

Our Instructors have many years of experience working with teens as educators and youth service workers.  They all have, and understand the need to have a servants heart along with understanding of the many learning styles of young men and women.

Steve Jeffers, Owner/Instructor

Steve has a BS Degree from Ball State University.  As the Owner of Jeffers Driving Academy, Steve has worked over 30 years with young men and women as a youth and music pastor and Training Coordinator of the Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie.  Steve is passionate about young people and has a desire to help them succeed in their life goals. 

Vicki Jeffers, Owner/Instructor

Vicki holds a BS Degree from Ball State University and a Master of Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. Vicki was the Director of Choirs at Northside Middle School in Muncie however retired at the end of the 2017 school year.  She had been an educator for over 30 years and loves working with students.  She enjoyed watching her students grow and become confident in their talents and abilities.  She is now focusing all her time on the driving academy.

Kelli Shore, Office Manager

Kelli graduated from Muncie Central High School and attended Ball State University.  Kelli has over 12 years of experience working with youth and 6 years of experience in a Supervisory role at the Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie.  Kelli has a heart for young people and truly loves working with them.  As the Office Manager of Jeffers Driving Academy, Kelli is here to help you through the process of Driver Education to make your experience a pleasant one.  Feel free to call Kelli with any questions you might have.

Nic Jeffers, Instructor

Nic holds a BS Degree from Ball State University.  Nic is the Physical Education Teacher at North View Elementary School in Muncie.  Nic is in the process of completing his Masters Degree and obtaining his Administrators license through Ball State University.  Nic enjoys driving with our students and hearing all about their life goals and teaching them to be safe and defensive drivers.

Christine Addington, Instructor

Christine holds a BS Degree in Pre-Professional Psychology from Ball State University and a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling along with her Professional School Counselor’s License. Christine is a Professional School Counselor at Northside Middle School in Muncie.  Christine has worked as a Counselor for over 18 years and has thoroughly enjoyed working with children in her community. Christine has always believed that children just need encouragement and guidance and they can do whatever they put their minds to. Christine is excited to help your child become an aware, responsible, and safe driver.

James Cawood, Instructor

Jim holds a BS Degree from Greenville College and a MS Degree from Indiana State University. Jim was a long time coach and taught Business, PE, Health and Safety, and Driver Education at Delta High School before retiring.

Ken Allen, Instructor 

Ken holds a BS Degree from Indiana State University, a MS Degree from Ball State University, and an EDS from Purdue University. Ken was an Administrator at Delta and Wapahani High Schools. After leaving secondary education Ken taught at the University of North Western Ohio before retiring to Florida. Ken came out of retirement while in Florida to teach at Gulf Coast University. He returned to Muncie to be close to his children and grandchildren. Ken loves teaching the students at Jeffers Driving Academy and talking about their many aspirations in life.

M. Tim Heller, Instructor 

Tim holds a BS Degree from Moorehead State, an MS Degree from Indiana University, and EDS Degree from Ball State University. He taugh History, Drivers Education, and coached Basketball and Baseball for many years before becoming Principal at Southside High School. Mr. Heller then accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent at Muncie Community Schools. He later moved to Kentucky where he was a Superintendent until he retired. After retirement Tim moved back to Muncie a came out of retirement to be Assistant Superintendent and then Superintendent at MCS. Tim loves watching students reach their full potential in driving and in life.
